Update: IDFC FIRST Removes Its No Rewards on International Spends From 26 October Note From Card Pages

Updated 14 September 2026 · By Amit Kumar Bansal

Two days after IDFC FIRST Bank’s card pages warned that international transactions would stop earning rewards from 26 October 2026, that warning has disappeared.

As shown on the IDFC FIRST pages on 14 September 2026, the note is gone from FIRST Wealth, Select, Millennia, Classic and Hello Cashback. The zero forex markup stays.

What Changed on the Pages

Item Earlier (10–12 Sept) Now (14 Sept)
26 October note “International transactions will not earn Reward Points” (Cashback on Hello Cashback) Removed from all five pages
FIRST Wealth 10X line Dining, Travel and spends on your Birthday Dining, Travel and international spends on your Birthday
FIRST Select welcome-benefit exclusions Listed “International spends” No longer listed
Forex markup 0% 0%

What This Means for You

This looks like good news, but IDFC FIRST has not announced a reversal. A note vanishing from a web page is not a written confirmation, and it had only appeared on 10 September.

Until the bank confirms by SMS, email or in the card’s terms, treat rewards on foreign spends after 26 October as uncertain. Ask customer care before a big overseas booking. Our earlier report: IDFC FIRST makes every credit card zero forex markup.

Wording as shown on the IDFC FIRST Bank card pages on 14 September 2026. Confirm on the issuer’s site before applying.
