Axis REWARDS Credit Card Fee Drops to Nil — But Only on the Amex Network

Axis REWARDS Credit Card Fee Drops to Nil But Only on the Amex Network

Updated 19 September 2026 · By Amit Kumar Bansal

Axis Bank has dropped the fee on its REWARDS Credit Card to nil. The card listings across Axis Bank’s own site changed today: where they showed a ₹1,000 joining fee and a ₹1,000 annual fee, they now read “Nil” on both, with the card tagged Lifetime Free. There is a condition in the small print, and it matters.

What’s Changing

Item Earlier Now
Joining fee ₹1,000 Nil
Annual fee ₹1,000 Nil
Condition — “Currently Lifetime Free on the Amex Network”

What This Means for You

Read that condition twice. Axis’s own note says the card is lifetime free on the Amex network, and it says currently so this is not a blanket fee removal on every variant, and Axis has not committed to keeping it.

The card itself is unchanged: 2 EDGE REWARD Points per ₹125 spent, a 5,000-point welcome benefit on ₹1,000 of spends within 30 days, memberships worth up to ₹1,000 a year and a 1,500-point milestone.

Axis has published no press release, so before applying, confirm on your application which network you are being issued and get the lifetime-free status in writing.

Another zero-fee Axis card we have covered: Scapia Axis Bank Credit Card.

Fees as shown on Axis Bank’s credit card pages on 19 September 2026; earlier figures from the same pages before today’s change.
