HSBC Extends 0% Forex on Its RuPay Cashback Card to 31 December 2026 Cleartrip and Bill Offers Dropped
Updated 22 September 2026 · By Amit Kumar Bansal
HSBC India has pushed the zero forex mark-up on its RuPay Cashback Credit Card out by four months.
The card page, which until now promised 0% FX mark-up until 31 August 2026, today reads 31 December 2026. In the same update HSBC quietly dropped two domestic offers from the page the Cleartrip travel discount and the 5% utility-bill offer and removed all three offers from the lifetime-free RuPay Platinum card.
What’s Changing
| Benefit | Earlier | Now |
|---|---|---|
| 0% forex mark-up | Until 31 August 2026 | Until 31 December 2026 |
| Cleartrip flights and hotels | Up to ₹6,000 off | Not listed |
| Utility bills, code HSBCRUPAY | 5% off above ₹299, max ₹150 | Not listed |
| Joining / annual fee | ₹499 + GST each | Unchanged |
What This Means for You
If you spend abroad, this is the cheapest zero-forex card HSBC sells, and the waiver now covers the whole festive and year-end travel season. That is separate from the all-card forex waiver we covered, which still ends on 30 September.
The loss is domestic: two coupon offers are no longer on the page, and Platinum holders lost theirs with nothing in return. HSBC has not announced a withdrawal these were dated promotions and may simply have lapsed.
As shown on the HSBC India card pages on 22 September 2026. GST and network cross-border fees still apply.
