Reward Type Reward points worth ₹0.25 each, redeemable as cashback, with no expiry

The BOBCARD TIARA is a women-only credit card from BOBCARD, the card arm of Bank of Baroda.

It packs a lot in for ₹2,499: 5X reward points on dining, travel and international spends, unlimited domestic airport lounge visits, a 2% forex markup and a stack of quarterly vouchers for Myntra, Nykaa, Flipkart, Lakmé Salon and BigBasket.

Points never expire and cost nothing to redeem. The fine print is where the work is. Lounge access needs ₹75,000 of spending every quarter, the 5X rate is capped, and “travel” means a narrow set of merchants. This review lays out what the card really returns.

Rewards & Benefits

Reward rate and earn structure

Spend type Points per ₹100 Value back
Dining, travel and international spends 15 (5X), capped at 5,000 points a statement cycle 3.75%
Hotels booked on BOBCARD SmartDeal 30 7.5%
Flights booked on BOBCARD SmartDeal 12 3%
All other spends 3 0.75%
Fuel and select merchant categories None 0%

The 5X cap of 5,000 points a cycle is worth ₹1,250 and is reached at about ₹33,300 of spend in those categories; after that they earn the regular 3 points.

BOBCARD defines the categories by merchant code: dining is restaurants (MCC 5812), travel is travel agencies (MCC 4722) and international is any transaction flagged as foreign.

A flight booked directly on an airline’s own website may not code as a travel agency, so book through an online travel agent if you want 5X. BOBCARD’s page also states that reward points on UPI spends are capped at ₹500 per statement cycle.

Redemption and point value

Every point is worth ₹0.25 when you redeem it as cashback, and BOBCARD charges no redemption fee.

A ₹10,000 dinner-and-travel month earns 1,500 points, or ₹375. TIARA points are evergreen, so they never lapse while the card is active. Points carried over from an older BOBCARD that was upgraded to TIARA keep their original expiry.

At face value, the quarterly vouchers add up to ₹3,500 a quarter, or ₹14,000 a year, but they are discounts at specific brands, so they are worth that only if you already shop there.

They go to the primary cardholder only and are claimed through BOBCARD’s login and the RuPay Select benefits portal.

The card also includes a women’s health check-up package with Pap smear, blood tests and mammography, and up to three lifetime-free add-on cards for your mother, sister or daughter aged over 18.

Spends must settle within the quarter to count, and interest, fees, EMI instalments and reversed transactions are excluded. The fuel surcharge waiver is 1% on transactions between ₹400 and ₹5,000, capped at ₹250 per statement cycle.

If you miss it, the fee is charged in your third statement. The annual waiver needs ₹2,50,000 a year, about ₹20,850 a month. Someone already spending ₹75,000 a quarter for lounge access will cross ₹3 lakh a year and pay no fee at all.

The charge that catches people out is the 1% processing fee list. Rent and wallet loads are charged from the first rupee, so do not use this card for rent.
