| Reward Type | Reward points, redeemable on IndusMoments, as cash credit, Pay with Rewards or KrisFlyer miles |
The IndusInd Bank Platinum RuPay Credit Card is built for one habit: paying by UPI. Because it runs on RuPay, you can link it to BHIM, Google Pay, PhonePe or Paytm and pay at any shop QR code, and every UPI payment earns double the points of a swipe.
There is no annual fee, travel insurance of up to ₹2.25 lakh is included, and rent payments carry no processing fee, which is rare in 2026.
What you do not get is lounge access or any milestone bonus, and a 3.5% forex markup rules it out for spending abroad. Read the fee section carefully, because the joining fee depends on the offer IndusInd gives you.
Rewards & Benefits
Reward rate and earn structure
| Spend type | Reward points | Value at ₹0.60 a point |
|---|---|---|
| UPI payments | 2 per ₹100 | 1.2% |
| Card (non-UPI) payments | 1 per ₹100 | 0.6% |
| Select merchant categories (UPI or card) | 0.70 per ₹100 | 0.42% |
| Fuel | None | 0% |
There is no fixed monthly cap on points, but there is a ceiling you should know: points are earned only on spends up to your assigned credit limit in each statement cycle.
Anything you spend beyond the limit in that cycle earns nothing. IndusInd does not list the “select merchant categories” that earn the lower 0.70 rate on the card page, so expect some everyday categories to earn less than the headline figure.
Redemption and point value
Since 15 December 2024, a point is worth ₹0.60 when you redeem for anything other than cash or air miles. So ₹10,000 of UPI spends earns 200 points, worth ₹120.
You need at least 500 points to redeem for cash credit or KrisFlyer miles. Cash redemption is capped at 2,500 points a calendar month and carries a ₹149 fee, while every other redemption costs ₹100.
That fee matters on a small balance: redeeming 500 points for a voucher worth ₹300 loses a third of the value to the fee, so let points build up before you cash them in.
Travel, fuel and protection
| Travel insurance cover | Sum assured (up to) |
|---|---|
| Lost baggage | ₹1,00,000 |
| Loss of passport | ₹50,000 |
| Delayed baggage | ₹25,000 |
| Lost ticket | ₹25,000 |
| Missed connection | ₹25,000 |
The cover is provided through The Oriental Insurance Company. On top of it, IndusInd’s Total Protect programme covers fraudulent use of a lost or stolen card up to your credit limit, including the 48 hours before you report the loss, and it also covers counterfeit card fraud. Add-on cards are covered too.
At the pump you get a 1% fuel surcharge waiver at any petrol pump in India. IndusInd does not publish a transaction band or a monthly cap for this card, but it keeps the right to impose one, and GST on the surcharge is never waived. There is no airport lounge access, and Priority Pass is not available on this card.

| Reward redemption fee | ₹149 for cash; ₹100 for other options |
All fees attract 18% GST. The annual fee is nil, so there is no waiver threshold to chase. The one number to settle before you apply is the joining fee.
The card page says only a one-time joining fee applies and promotes the card as lifetime free, while the MITC fee table lists ₹10,000 and says the actual fee is conveyed at the time of application. Accept the offer only if the screen shows a zero or low joining fee.
The charge that catches people out is the 2% fee on rupee payments to merchants registered abroad. Many app subscriptions and some travel sites bill this way, and the fee applies even though you paid in rupees.
Eligibility & Documents Required
Both existing IndusInd Bank customers and new customers can apply. The whole process runs online: you enter your details, pick the card offer, accept the terms and complete a video KYC.
IndusInd does not publish a minimum income or age band on the card page, so approval, your joining fee and your credit limit depend on its own credit assessment.
Keep your PAN, Aadhaar and recent income proof (salary slips or bank statements) ready before you start the video KYC.
