BOBCARD ETERNA Credit Card Review
At a Glance
| Joining Fee | Nil under BOBCARD’s limited-period offer from 1 September 2026 (standard fee ₹2,499 + GST) |
| Annual Fee | ₹2,499 + GST (₹2,949 all-in) from the second year, waived on ₹2,50,000 of spends in the previous card year |
| Best Suited For | People earning over ₹12 lakh who spend ₹75,000 a quarter, mostly online, on dining and on travel |
| Reward Type | BOBCARD Reward Points that never expire, 1 point = ₹0.25 as cashback |
The BOBCARD ETERNA is Bank of Baroda’s mid-premium lifestyle card. It pays 15 Reward Points per ₹100 on online shopping, dining, travel and international spends, which works out to 3.75% back, and its points never expire.
Right now there is no joining fee, and the ₹2,499 renewal fee goes away at ₹2.5 lakh of yearly spending.
The catch is in the fine print: the accelerated rate stops at 5,000 points a statement cycle, domestic lounge access now needs ₹75,000 of spending a quarter, and new cards no longer carry accident insurance. This review puts a rupee figure on each of those.
Rewards & Benefits
Reward rate and earn structure
| Spend | Earn rate | Value back |
|---|---|---|
| Online shopping, dining, travel agencies, international | 15 points per ₹100, capped at 5,000 points a statement cycle | 3.75% |
| Everything else | 3 points per ₹100 | 0.75% |
| Flights booked via BOBCARD SmartDeal in the app | Extra 12 points per ₹100 | Extra 3% |
| Hotels booked via BOBCARD SmartDeal in the app | Extra 30 points per ₹100 | Extra 7.5% |
| Fuel, rent, wallets, insurance, education, government, supermarkets | No points | 0% |
The 5,000 point cap on the 15x categories is worth ₹1,250 a cycle and is reached at about ₹33,300 of eligible spending; anything above that earns the base 3 points.
Spends below ₹100, UPI payments made with the card and utility bills do not earn the accelerated rate.
Redemption and point value
The best use is cashback against your statement, at 1 point = ₹0.25, with a minimum of 1,000 points.
Paying at merchants through TWID’s Pay with Rewards gives only ₹0.15 a point, so avoid it. Points earned on ETERNA do not lapse, although points carried over from an older BOBCARD after an upgrade still follow their original 2 year expiry.
Welcome and milestone benefits
| Target | Reward | Rupee value |
|---|---|---|
| ₹10,000 within 30 days of issue (cards issued from 1 August 2026) | 12-month FITPASS PRO membership | ₹48,000 as valued by BOBCARD |
| ₹50,000 within 60 days of issue | 10,000 bonus points | ₹2,500 |
| ₹5,00,000 in a card anniversary year | 20,000 bonus points | ₹5,000 |
Travel, dining and lifestyle
| Benefit | Allowance |
|---|---|
| Domestic airport lounges | Unlimited, if you spent ₹75,000 in the previous calendar quarter (₹2 card check at each visit) |
| International lounges | Not offered |
| Movies | Buy one get one on District, up to ₹250 a month |
| Fuel surcharge waiver | 1% on ₹400 to ₹5,000, up to ₹250 a statement cycle |
| Add-on cards | Up to 3, free for life |
The lounge threshold rose from ₹40,000 to ₹75,000 a quarter on 1 October 2026.
New cards get lounge access in their first calendar quarter without the spend test. BOBCARD also removed air and non-air accident death cover for ETERNA cards issued after 15 July 2026.
Fees & Charges
| Charge | Amount |
|---|---|
| Joining fee | Nil from 1 September 2026 (limited period); standard ₹2,499 + GST, reversed on ₹25,000 in 60 days |
| Annual fee | ₹2,499 + GST, waived on ₹2,50,000 in the previous card year |
| Interest | 3.75% a month (45% a year) since 15 July 2026 |
| Forex markup | 2% + GST |
| Cash withdrawal | 2.5% or ₹500, whichever is higher |
| Late payment | ₹100 (₹100 to ₹500 due) up to ₹1,300 (above ₹50,000 due) |
| Over-limit | 2.5% of the excess or ₹600, whichever is higher |
| Rent and wallet loads | 1% of the amount |
| Fuel | 1% on a single fuel spend of ₹10,000 or more |
| Utility bills | 1% (up to ₹3,000) on a single bill of ₹50,000 or more |
GST at 18% applies on top of every fee and on interest. The ₹2,50,000 waiver works out to about ₹20,800 a month.
If you already spend ₹75,000 a quarter to keep lounge access, you will cross ₹3 lakh a year and the fee looks after itself.
The charge that catches people out is the excluded list. Supermarket and grocery spends (MCC 5411), fast food, rent and insurance earn no points at all, so a household that puts its monthly grocery bill on ETERNA earns nothing on it.
Eligibility & Documents Required
You must be an Indian resident, salaried or self-employed, with net annual income above ₹12 lakh, and aged 25 to 55 per the product page. BOBCARD does not publish a minimum credit score.
You will need a recent passport-size photo, PAN, an address proof such as Aadhaar, voter ID, passport or driving licence, and income proof; salaried applicants submit bank statements showing the last 2 months of salary credits.

BOBCARD ETERNA vs Competitors
| Card | Annual fee | Fee waived at |
|---|---|---|
| BOBCARD ETERNA | ₹2,499 + GST | ₹2.5 lakh a year |
| BOBCARD TIARA | ₹2,499 + GST | ₹2.5 lakh a year |
| HDFC Regalia Gold | ₹2,500 + GST | ₹4 lakh a year |
TIARA, BOBCARD’s other ₹2,499 card, has the same fee, lounge rule and base rate but leaves online shopping out of its accelerated categories, so ETERNA suits anyone who shops online.
Regalia Gold costs the same and needs ₹1.5 lakh more spending to waive, but rewards bigger spenders with vouchers; read our HDFC Regalia Gold review for its numbers.
How to Apply
Apply on the BOBCARD website in three steps: fill in the online form, e-sign with Aadhaar, and finish video KYC. You can also start the application at any Bank of Baroda branch or through BOBCARD’s customer support.
Once the card arrives, spend ₹10,000 in 30 days for FITPASS and ₹50,000 in 60 days for the 10,000 bonus points.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the BOBCARD ETERNA annual fee waived?
Yes, the ₹2,499 + GST annual fee is waived if you spent ₹2,50,000 in the previous card year. The waiver applies only to accounts that are not in default.
How many lounge visits does BOBCARD ETERNA give?
Unlimited domestic visits, as long as you spent ₹75,000 or more in the previous calendar quarter. EMI instalments, fees and reversed transactions do not count towards that amount.
What is the minimum salary for BOBCARD ETERNA?
Net annual income above ₹12 lakh, for both salaried and self-employed applicants. Approval and limit depend on BOBCARD’s assessment.
What is one BOBCARD ETERNA reward point worth?
₹0.25 when redeemed as cashback against your statement, from 1,000 points upwards. That makes the 15x rate worth 3.75% and the base rate 0.75%.
Do BOBCARD ETERNA reward points expire?
No, points earned on ETERNA are evergreen. They are forfeited if the card is closed, turns 90 days overdue or goes unused for 365 days.
Does BOBCARD ETERNA come with insurance?
Not on new cards. BOBCARD dropped air and non-air accident death cover for ETERNA cards issued after 15 July 2026.
Bottom Line
Get the BOBCARD ETERNA if you earn over ₹12 lakh, put ₹25,000 to ₹35,000 a month on online shopping, dining and travel, and want points that never expire.
At that level you collect close to the full ₹1,250 a cycle, keep the lounges open and never pay the fee.
Skip it if your spending is mostly groceries, rent or bills, which earn little or nothing here, or if you fly abroad and need international lounges. Skip it too if you might carry a balance at 45% a year.
