The RBL Bank Aspire Banking Credit Card is a cashback card you can only get if you are in RBL’s Aspire Banking programme. If you qualify, it costs nothing to hold.

It pays 1% cashback on eligible spends, capped at ₹1,000 a billing cycle, and an uncapped 3% on flights, hotels, shopping and vouchers bought through the RBL Bank Rewards Portal.

Add ₹4,500 of yearly milestone cashback, a quarterly lounge visit and a monthly movie offer. This review works out what the card really returns, and the one rule that can make your cashback vanish.

Rewards & Benefits

Cashback rate and earn structure

Spend Cashback
Flights, hotels, shopping and vouchers on the RBL Bank Rewards Portal 3%, no cap
All other eligible retail spends 1%, capped at ₹1,000 per billing cycle
Fuel and auto, utilities, insurance, rent, education, government, railways, wallet loads, quasi-cash, cash, EMI and Bills2Pay 0

The 3% applies only to purchases made on RBL’s own rewards portal. The same flight or hotel booked directly on an airline or travel site earns the standard 1%.

The ₹1,000 cap on the 1% rate is reached at ₹1 lakh of eligible spends in one billing cycle, which few people will touch.

Redemption and the 3-month expiry

All cashback, including milestones, shows in your monthly statement. You redeem it at rblrewards.com by choosing the Cashback category and confirming with an OTP.

The money reaches your RBL savings account within 7 days, and RBL charges no redemption fee on this card. Cashback cannot be used for flights, hotels or vouchers on the portal.

Here is the catch. Cashback is valid for only 3 months from the month it accrues and then expires. Set a reminder to redeem every month or two.

Milestone benefits

Eligible spends in a membership year Milestone cashback
₹3 lakh ₹1,500
₹5 lakh A further ₹3,000 (₹4,500 in total)

The membership year starts on the date the card is issued. On ₹5 lakh of eligible spends, you would earn ₹5,000 at 1% plus ₹4,500 in milestones, a total of ₹9,500 or 1.9% back.

Route part of that through the portal at 3% and the return climbs higher.

Lounge and movie benefits

Benefit Allowance and condition
Airport lounge in India 1 visit a quarter, if you spent ₹35,000 on eligible purchases in the previous calendar quarter
BookMyShow Buy 1 get 1 free on 2 or more tickets, up to ₹150 off, once a month

The lounge visit is for the primary cardholder only and lapses if unused in that quarter. RBL places an authorisation of up to ₹25 on the card at the lounge, which is reversed. There is no international lounge access.

Bottom Line

Get the RBL Aspire Banking Credit Card if you already bank with RBL at the Aspire level and spend ₹3 lakh to ₹5 lakh a year. It is free, and it returns close to 2% once the milestones are counted.

It works best if you also book travel or buy vouchers through RBL’s portal at 3%.

Skip it if you would have to park money at RBL only to qualify, or if you forget to redeem, because cashback expires in 3 months. Skip it too if you travel abroad or want more than one lounge visit a quarter.
