The Flipkart SBI Card is SBI Card’s co-branded answer to the Flipkart Axis Bank Credit Card, launched in August 2025. The headline is 7.5% cashback on Myntra and 5% on Flipkart, Shopsy and Cleartrip genuinely high rates for a card that costs ₹590 a year including tax.

The catch is the cap, and it is the single most important number on this page: each accelerated category stops paying after ₹4,000 of cashback per quarter. Four separate ₹4,000 buckets, four separate ceilings. Read that number alongside every rate below, because a 7.5% rate on ₹53,333 of quarterly Myntra spend and a 7.5% rate on ₹2,00,000 of quarterly Myntra spend pay exactly the same ₹4,000.

Rewards & Benefits

Reward rate & earn structure

Everything on this card is cashback no points, no conversion rates, no catalogue.

CategoryCashbackCap
Myntra7.5%₹4,000 per quarter
Flipkart (incl. Shopsy, Flipkart Travel)5%₹4,000 per quarter
Cleartrip5%₹4,000 per quarter
Select merchants Zomato, Uber, Netmeds, PVR4%₹4,000 per quarter
All other eligible spends1%Unlimited

The caps are per category, not pooled, so the theoretical maximum is ₹16,000 a quarter ₹64,000 a year plus unlimited 1% on everything else. Almost nobody gets there. What matters is where your own spending hits each ceiling:

CategoryQuarterly spend that maxes the capMonthly equivalent
Myntra at 7.5%₹53,333₹17,778
Flipkart at 5%₹80,000₹26,667
Cleartrip at 5%₹80,000₹26,667
Select merchants at 4%₹1,00,000₹33,333

Three details in the terms that most write-ups skip:

  • The “quarter” is not a calendar quarter. The cap window starts from your first transaction after account opening and runs through three billing cycles, resetting when the fourth statement generates. If your account opened in March with a 22nd billing date, your first window could run 19 March to 21 June.
  • Transactions below ₹100 earn nothing. No cashback at all, not a rounded-down amount.
  • Cashback is rounded down per transaction. A ₹2,999 Flipkart purchase earns ₹149, not ₹149.95.

The exclusion list is long, and it is where a lot of intended spending quietly disappears: fuel, rent and property management, government payments, education and school fees, jewellery, insurance premiums, gaming, wallet and prepaid loads, gift card and voucher purchases, cash advances, and every kind of EMI both Flexipay and merchant EMI booked at checkout. Payments made through standing instructions or Fetch and Pay on SBI Card’s own platforms are also excluded.

That EMI exclusion deserves its own warning. Buying a ₹40,000 phone on Flipkart at no-cost EMI earns you ₹0, not ₹2,000. Converting a transaction to EMI later reverses the cashback already earned, and cancelling or foreclosing that EMI does not bring it back.

Redemption options & point value

There is nothing to redeem. Cashback is credited directly to your card account after the statement generates, so ₹1 of cashback is worth ₹1 against your outstanding no devaluation risk, no expiry to track, no voucher catalogue.

One inconsistency worth flagging: SBI Card’s terms booklet states cashback is credited within two working days of statement generation in one clause and within 15 days in another. In practice the two-day timeline is what the launch communication promised.

If you close the card voluntarily, any earned cashback must be used within 30 days or it lapses. If SBI Card cancels or blocks the card, or your account is 90 days overdue or settled, earned cashback is forfeited outright.

Welcome benefit

A ₹250 Flipkart e-gift voucher, credited within 60 days of your joining fee being realised, valid for one year. That is what the current terms booklet commits to it covers roughly 42% of the ₹590 you paid.

The August 2025 launch campaign advertised welcome benefits worth ₹1,250, made up of the ₹250 voucher plus around ₹1,000 in benefits on your first Flipkart transaction within 30 days of approval, along with Cleartrip vouchers. Whether that construct is still live in August 2026 needs checking against the current offer page before you count on it.

Milestone benefits

None. There are no spend milestones on this card. The only spend-linked benefit is the annual fee reversal at ₹3,50,000, covered under Fees below.

Dining benefits

Only through the 4% select-merchant category, which includes Zomato so food delivery earns 4% up to the shared ₹4,000 quarterly cap on that bucket. There is no separate dining programme, no restaurant discount tie-up, and no complimentary membership.

Travel benefits

Cleartrip is the travel leg: 5% cashback on Cleartrip bookings, capped at ₹4,000 per quarter, and Uber sits in the 4% bucket.

The card also carried instant discounts on Cleartrip 7% off flights (maximum ₹1,500 domestic, ₹4,000 international), 20% off hotels (maximum ₹5,000), and 10% off bus bookings (maximum ₹150 per transaction). These were documented as applicable only until 30 June 2026, so they have lapsed unless SBI Card and Cleartrip have extended the arrangement. Confirm on the offer page before you book a holiday around them.

Airport lounge access (domestic/international)

None. No domestic visits, no international visits, on either the Visa or Mastercard variant. If lounge access is on your list, this is the wrong card and note that its closest rival dropped lounge access too, so switching to the Axis version will not solve it.

Insurance & protection covers

No complimentary insurance cover. SBI Card’s booklet only describes insurance products you can buy using the card as a corporate agent of Royal Sundaram, SBI General and SBI Life. There is no bundled air accident, purchase protection, or lost-card liability cover on this variant beyond the standard rule that your liability ends once you have reported a lost or stolen card.

Fees & Charges

All fees below are exclusive of GST. 18% GST applies on top of every fee and charge, which is why a ₹500 fee costs you ₹590.

ChargeAmount
Joining fee₹500 + GST
Annual fee (second year onward)₹500 + GST
Annual fee reversalOn ₹3,50,000 annual spend
Finance chargesUp to 3.75% per month (45% per annum)

Cash advance fee2.5% of the amount, minimum ₹500
Over-limit fee2.5% of the over-limit amount, minimum ₹600
Payment dishonour2% of the payment, minimum ₹500
Cash payment fee (at branch)₹250
Fuel surcharge waiver1% on transactions between ₹500 and ₹4,000, maximum ₹400 per statement cycle

Late payment charges by statement balance: nil up to ₹500; ₹400 above ₹500 and up to ₹1,000; ₹750 above ₹1,000 and up to ₹10,000; ₹950 above ₹10,000 and up to ₹25,000; ₹1,100 above ₹25,000 and up to ₹50,000; ₹1,300 above ₹50,000.

Joining & annual fee, and how to get it waived

₹500 plus GST to join, the same again every year from year two. The fee is reversed if you spend ₹3,50,000 in the preceding year about ₹29,167 a month and the reversal is processed within 30 days of the fee being charged.

That threshold is steep for a card in this bracket. Treat the ₹590 as a fixed annual cost rather than something you will spend your way out of. It is not a difficult cost to justify: ₹11,800 of Flipkart spend across the year at 5% covers it, which is under ₹1,000 a month.

Forex markup

3.5% on international transactions, which is high and rules the card out for foreign travel or overseas online shopping. On a $500 purchase, the markup alone costs roughly ₹1,550 before GST. Keep a low-markup or zero-markup card for that spending.

Interest rate & finance charges

Up to 3.75% per month, which annualises to 45%. Cashback of 5% is erased by roughly six weeks of revolving a balance. This card only makes financial sense if you clear the total amount due every month.

Fuel surcharge waiver

1% waiver on fuel transactions up to ₹4,000, capped at ₹400 per statement cycle. Note that fuel earns no cashback at all the waiver is the only fuel benefit here.

Cash advance & other charges

Cash withdrawals attract 2.5% (minimum ₹500) plus finance charges from the day of withdrawal, with no interest-free period. Contactless tap payments work up to ₹5,000 per transaction without a PIN; above that you dip and enter the PIN.

Eligibility & Documents Required

SBI Card does not publish a hard income cut-off for this card. What is documented:

  • Age: 21 to 70 years
  • Residency: Indian resident
  • Employment: Salaried or self-employed with stable, documented income
  • Income: Not published by SBI Card for this variant
  • Add-on cards: Available for spouse, parents, siblings and children over 18

Documents: PAN card, Aadhaar or other address proof, latest three months’ salary slips or ITR for the self-employed, and recent bank statements.

Two eligibility quirks specific to this card. First, you cannot flip an existing SBI Card variant into a Flipkart SBI Card, or flip this card into another SBI variant, at your own request it must be a fresh application. Second, joining-benefit disputes go to the platform you applied through: apply via Flipkart and Flipkart handles the query, not SBI Card.

Flipkart Axis Bank Credit Card is the near-twin, matching this card on fee, on the 7.5% Myntra and 5% Flipkart and Cleartrip rates, and on the ₹4,000 quarterly caps. The real difference is the partner bucket: Axis pays 4% on Swiggy, Uber, PVR and Cult.fit without the quarterly ceiling that SBI applies. If your partner-category spending is heavy, Axis wins on that one axis. If you order from Zomato rather than Swiggy, or buy medicines on Netmeds, SBI’s partner list fits you better.

CASHBACK SBI Card went the other way in April 2026: 5% on any online merchant is broader than five named platforms, but the cap dropped to ₹2,000 per statement cycle on online spends. It costs twice as much in fee and its 5% now applies to a narrower rupee ceiling though it will pay you on Amazon, Swiggy and dozens of sites this card treats as 1% spends.

Amazon Pay ICICI Credit Card is worth naming as the lifetime-free alternative: no fee at all, with its top rate reserved for Amazon. If your cart is split between Amazon and Flipkart, holding this card and that one costs ₹590 a year total and covers both.

How to Apply

  1. Through the Flipkart app the co-brand journey lives inside Flipkart itself, and this is the route to use if you want the joining-benefit voucher tracked by Flipkart.
  2. SBI Card SPRINT on sbicard.com SBI Card’s own digital application.
  3. Via Myntra or Cleartrip, which also carry the application journey.

You will need PAN, address proof, income proof and bank statements. Approval, credit limit and network variant Visa or Mastercard are decided by SBI Card, and no site can promise you any of them. Remember that an existing SBI Card cannot be converted into this one.

Is the Flipkart SBI Card lifetime free? No. It costs ₹500 plus GST to join and ₹500 plus GST every year after. The annual fee is reversed if you spend ₹3,50,000 in the preceding year.

What is the maximum cashback I can earn on the Flipkart SBI Card? ₹4,000 per quarter in each of four categories Flipkart, Myntra, Cleartrip and select merchants so ₹16,000 a quarter or ₹64,000 a year at the absolute ceiling, plus unlimited 1% on other eligible spends.

Does the Flipkart SBI Card give lounge access? No. There is no complimentary domestic or international lounge access on this card.

Do I earn cashback on no-cost EMI purchases on Flipkart? No. All EMI transactions are excluded, including Flexipay and merchant EMI booked at checkout. Converting a purchase to EMI later reverses cashback already credited, and cancelling the EMI does not restore it.

What is the welcome benefit on the Flipkart SBI Card? A ₹250 Flipkart e-gift voucher, credited within 60 days of your joining fee being realised and valid for one year.

Which spends do not earn cashback? Fuel, rent, government payments, education fees, jewellery, insurance, gaming, wallet and prepaid loads, gift cards and vouchers, cash advances, balance transfers, standing instructions on SBI Card platforms, and all EMI transactions. Transactions under ₹100 also earn nothing.

When does the cashback get credited? It is credited directly to your card account after the statement generates SBI Card’s launch communication specified within two working days, so there is no manual redemption step.

How does the quarterly cap actually work? The window is counted from your first transaction after account opening and runs through three billing cycles, resetting on the fourth statement. It does not follow the January–March calendar quarter.

Flipkart SBI Card or Flipkart Axis Bank Credit Card which is better? They match on fee, on Flipkart and Myntra rates, and on the ₹4,000 quarterly caps. Choose by partner list and cap: Axis pays 4% uncapped on Swiggy, Uber, PVR and Cult.fit, while SBI caps 4% at ₹4,000 a quarter on Zomato, Uber, Netmeds and PVR.

Can I upgrade my existing SBI Card to a Flipkart SBI Card? No. Flipping from another SBI Card variant into this card, or out of it, is not permitted. You must apply fresh.

Bottom Line

Get this card if you spend ₹8,000 to ₹25,000 a month across Flipkart and Myntra, pay your bill in full every month, and buy outright rather than on EMI. A reader spending ₹10,000 a month on Flipkart, ₹3,000 on Myntra, ₹4,000 across Zomato and Uber, and ₹10,000 elsewhere earns roughly ₹985 a month about ₹11,800 a year against a ₹590 fee. At that profile the card is straightforwardly worth holding, and the fact that cashback lands as a statement credit rather than points you have to redeem makes it low-maintenance in a way most reward cards are not.

Skip this card if any of the following is true. You are a very heavy Flipkart shopper past roughly ₹27,000 a month on Flipkart alone you are donating spend to a cap that has stopped paying. You buy your big-ticket electronics on no-cost EMI during sales, which is exactly the spending this card excludes. You want lounge access, insurance cover, or a card that works abroad, none of which this card offers. Or your online shopping is spread across Amazon, Swiggy and other sites rather than concentrated in the Flipkart group, in which case a broad online cashback card or the lifetime-free Amazon Pay ICICI Credit Card will pay you on more of what you actually buy.

And if you already hold the Flipkart Axis Bank Credit Card, there is little reason to add this one. They are close to the same card, the caps are the same size, and paying two ₹590 fees to cover two overlapping partner lists is not a strategy.

Fees, cashback rates, caps and partner lists are as of 17 August 2026 and are set by SBI Card, which can revise them at any time. Confirm the current figures on the Flipkart SBI Card page and the Most Important Terms and Conditions on sbicard.com before you apply. Card Jaano does not guarantee approval, credit limit or network variant.
