At a Glance
| Joining Fee | ₹3,000 + GST (₹3,540 all-in), returned as welcome vouchers |
| Annual Fee | ₹2,000 + GST (₹2,360 all-in), reversed if you spend ₹3 lakh in the card year |
| Best Suited For | Mid-to-high spenders who want lounge, golf and movie perks without paying Sapphiro’s fee |
| Reward Type | ICICI Bank Reward Points, redeemed from the ICICI rewards catalogue |
The ICICI Bank Rubyx Credit Card sits in the middle of ICICI’s lifestyle range, below Sapphiro and above Coral. You pay ₹3,000 + GST to join and get welcome vouchers that ICICI says are worth over ₹15,000 in return.
After that, the card earns 2 reward points per ₹100 in India and 4 per ₹100 abroad. Most of its perks, from airport lounges to golf and BookMyShow discounts, unlock only after you hit a spend target.
This review sets out every earn rate, cap and spend condition, so you can work out whether Rubyx pays back its fee on your own spending.
Rewards & Benefits
Reward rate and earn structure
| Spend | Reward points per ₹100 |
|---|---|
| International spends | 4 |
| Domestic spends | 2 |
| Utility and insurance | 1, earned on up to ₹80,000 each per statement cycle |
| Grocery and departmental stores | 2, earned on up to ₹40,000 per statement cycle |
| Transportation | 2, earned on up to ₹20,000 per statement cycle |
| Fuel, rent, cash and e-wallet loads | 0 |
The international rate looks attractive, but foreign spends also carry a 3.5% markup. That fee costs you far more than the extra 2 points per ₹100 can return.
The caps in the table are spend caps per statement cycle. Spends above them still go through but earn no points.
Redemption and point value
You redeem points on the ICICI Bank Rewards site for products and vouchers across travel, electronics, fashion and home appliances. ICICI does not publish one fixed rupee value per Rubyx point, so the value depends on the item you pick.
Every redemption request carries a handling fee of ₹99 + GST. Collect points and redeem in one go rather than in small lots, or the fee eats a large share of the value.
Welcome and milestone benefits
| Welcome voucher | Face value |
|---|---|
| Tata CLiQ | ₹2,000 |
| EaseMyTrip domestic flights | ₹2,000 (2 × ₹1,000) |
| EaseMyTrip holiday packages | ₹3,000 |
| Croma | ₹1,000 (2 × ₹500) |
| Elivaas stays | ₹10,000 |
| EazyDiner Prime | 3-month membership worth ₹1,095 |
| Avis car rentals | Up to 35% off |
The vouchers reach your email within 45 business days of paying the joining fee. You claim them under the Rubyx Welcome Benefit tab on the ICICI Bank Rewards site.
Treat the headline value with care. The ₹10,000 Elivaas and ₹3,000 holiday vouchers only help if you were already planning that kind of booking. Tata CLiQ, Croma and the flight vouchers are the ones most people will actually use.
The milestone pays 3,000 bonus points once you spend ₹3 lakh in a year, then 1,500 more for every extra ₹1 lakh. It stops at 15,000 points a year, which takes ₹11 lakh of spends.
Travel, lounge, golf and movies
| Benefit | Allowance and condition |
|---|---|
| Domestic airport lounge | 2 visits a quarter, on ₹75,000 of spends in the previous quarter |
| Railway lounge | 2 visits a quarter (8 a year) |
| Golf | 1 round or lesson per ₹50,000 spent in the previous month, up to 2 a month |
| INOX | 25% off up to ₹150, twice a month |
| BookMyShow | 25% off up to ₹150, twice a month, on ₹25,000 of spends in the previous quarter |
| Fuel surcharge waiver | 1% on transactions of ₹400 to ₹4,000 |
Lounge, railway and golf benefits are for the primary cardholder only. If you hold Rubyx on two networks, ICICI now gives 1 lounge visit a quarter on each variant, so you still get 2 in total, not 4.
There is no international lounge access. Insurance includes air accident cover of ₹1 crore, valid only on international tickets bought with the card and only if the card was used in the 60 days before. The RuPay variant adds ₹2 lakh of personal accident cover.
Fees & Charges

The ₹3 lakh waiver works out to ₹25,000 a month. Rent, government and education payments, EMI transactions and fees do not count towards it or the milestones.
The charge that catches people out is the late fee slab. An outstanding of ₹10,001 to ₹25,000 costs ₹900 + GST, and above ₹50,000 it is ₹1,300 + GST.

|---|---|---|---|
| Joining fee | ₹3,000 | ₹6,500 | Nil |
| Annual fee | ₹2,000, waived at ₹3 lakh | ₹3,500, waived above ₹6 lakh | Nil |

Bottom Line
Get the ICICI Bank Rubyx Credit Card if you spend ₹25,000 or more a month and will use the welcome vouchers. At that level the annual fee is reversed and the quarterly lounge and BookMyShow benefits unlock.
Golf players spending ₹50,000 a month get the most from it.
Skip it if you spend abroad often, because the 3.5% markup outweighs the 4X points. Skip it too if you spend under ₹75,000 a quarter, since the lounges stay locked and a lifetime free card will serve you better.
