Joining Fee ₹2,999 + GST (₹3,539 all-in)
Annual Fee ₹2,999 + GST, reversed on annual spends of ₹3 lakh
Best Suited For Households buying from AJIO, JioMart and Reliance Retail stores
Reward Type Reward Points redeemed as Reliance Retail vouchers, 1 point equals ₹0.25

Reliance Retail covers a lot of Indian household spending: groceries at Smart and Fresh, phones at Digital, clothes at AJIO and Trends. This card pays 20 Reward Points per ₹100 on AJIO and JioMart, which is 5% back, and 10 points per ₹100 across the rest of the group. Add a ₹3,000 joining voucher, up to ₹8,750 of milestone vouchers, twelve lounge visits and a free movie ticket every month, and the ₹3,539 fee is easy to clear. The constraint is the obvious one: your rewards come out as Reliance Retail vouchers, nowhere else.

Rewards & Benefits

Reward rate and earn structure

Spend category Earn rate Cap
AJIO and JioMart online stores, excluding UPI payments 20 Reward Points per ₹100 None published
Other participating Reliance Retail stores, excluding UPI payments 10 Reward Points per ₹100 None published
Dining, movies and entertainment, domestic airlines and international spends 5 Reward Points per ₹100 None published
All other retail purchases 2 Reward Points per ₹100 None published

The UPI exclusion is the detail most people miss. Paying at a Reliance store by scanning a QR code earns nothing on the accelerated rate, so the card has to be swiped or tapped to count. The base rate also excludes fuel, property rent and wallet uploads entirely.

Redemption and what a point is worth

SBI states one Reward Point equals ₹0.25, so four points make ₹1. That puts AJIO and JioMart at 5% back, the rest of Reliance Retail at 2.5%, dining and travel at 1.25%, and general spending at 0.5%. Points are redeemed against Reliance Retail vouchers. There is no cash out and no transfer to an airline programme, so the entire value of this card assumes you keep buying from Reliance.

Welcome and milestone benefits

Benefit Requirement
Reliance Retail voucher worth ₹3,000 Payment of the joining fee, delivered within 30 days
Reliance Retail voucher worth ₹1,500 ₹75,000 annual spend at participating Reliance Retail stores
Reliance Retail voucher worth ₹2,250 ₹1,50,000 annual spend at participating Reliance Retail stores
Reliance Retail voucher worth ₹5,000 ₹3,00,000 annual spend at participating Reliance Retail stores
Annual fee reversal ₹3,00,000 total annual spend

The three milestone vouchers total ₹8,750 and are cumulative, so a household spending ₹3 lakh a year inside Reliance Retail collects all of them. SBI also lists additional discount vouchers worth ₹11,999 across participating stores, though those are discounts to use rather than money in hand. Every voucher here is redeemable only at participating Reliance Retail stores.

Lounge access, movies and fuel

Benefit Allowance
Domestic lounge visits 2 every quarter, so 8 a year
International lounge visits 4 a year, max 2 per quarter, at 1,000 plus Priority Pass lounges
Free movie ticket 1 per month, up to ₹250, on one transaction per month
Fuel surcharge waiver 1% on ₹500 to ₹4,000, max ₹100 per statement cycle

The monthly movie ticket is worth up to ₹3,000 a year on its own, which is most of the fee. A convenience fee still applies on the booking, so it is not entirely free.

Fees & Charges

Joining fee ₹2,999 + GST
All-in first year cost ₹3,539
Renewal fee, per annum ₹2,999 + GST from the second year
Spend needed for fee reversal ₹3,00,000 in the card year
Add-on card fee, per annum Nil
Fuel surcharge waiver 1% on ₹500 to ₹4,000, max ₹100 per statement cycle

GST of 18% brings the real cost to ₹3,539. Reaching the ₹3 lakh reversal means about ₹25,000 a month across all spending, not only at Reliance, and that same ₹3 lakh inside Reliance Retail would also unlock all three milestone vouchers. In year one the ₹3,000 joining voucher already covers most of the fee, so the card starts ahead.

The thing that catches people out is the ₹100 fuel waiver ceiling, which is unusually low for a ₹2,999 card. Cards at a third of this fee routinely allow ₹250. Combined with fuel earning no reward points at all, this is not a card to keep in the car. Interest rates, forex markup and cash advance charges are set out in SBI Card’s Most Important Terms and Conditions for this product.

Eligibility & Documents Required

SBI does not publish an income floor, age band or credit score cut-off for this card. At ₹2,999 it sits in the premium tier, so expect stricter underwriting than on entry cards. It is open for online application on SBI Card’s website. Keep ready your PAN, proof of identity, proof of current address, and either recent salary slips or the last two years of income tax returns if you are self-employed.

Pros & Cons

Pros Cons
5% back on AJIO and JioMart with no published cap UPI payments at Reliance stores earn nothing accelerated
₹3,000 joining voucher plus up to ₹8,750 in milestones Rewards only redeem as Reliance Retail vouchers
Free movie ticket every month worth up to ₹250 Fuel waiver capped at just ₹100 per statement cycle
8 domestic and 4 international lounge visits Fee reversal needs ₹3 lakh of annual spend

Reliance SBI Card PRIME vs Competitors

Card Annual fee Top category rate
Reliance SBI Card PRIME ₹2,999, reversed at ₹3 lakh 5% on AJIO and JioMart
Reliance SBI Card Lower Lower tier of the same programme
SBI Card PRIME Charged annually Broad everyday earning, no store tie

Against the entry Reliance SBI Card, the PRIME adds lounge access, the monthly movie ticket and a much higher store rate, so it pays off for anyone spending seriously inside the group. If your shopping is spread across retailers, SBI Card PRIME earns a currency that is not tied to one company.

How to Apply

Apply on SBI Card’s website using the button on this page, which opens the Reliance SBI Card PRIME product page. You can also apply through the SBI Card chatbot, by calling the SBI Card helpline, or at an SBI Card branch. The ₹3,000 joining voucher is delivered within 30 days of the joining fee being realised, so it arrives after the fee is paid rather than at approval.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Reliance SBI Card PRIME annual fee waived?
It is reversed at ₹3,00,000 of annual spend. Below that you pay ₹2,999 + GST, which is ₹3,539 all in.

How much do I earn on AJIO and JioMart?
20 Reward Points per ₹100, which is 5% back at the rate of 1 point to ₹0.25. UPI payments are excluded from this rate.

How many lounge visits does the Reliance SBI Card PRIME give?
Two domestic visits every quarter, so eight a year, plus four international visits a year capped at two per quarter across more than 1,000 Priority Pass lounges.

What are the milestone vouchers worth in total?
₹8,750, split as ₹1,500 at ₹75,000, ₹2,250 at ₹1,50,000 and ₹5,000 at ₹3,00,000 of annual spend at participating Reliance Retail stores.

Can I redeem points for cash?
No. SBI lists redemption against Reliance Retail vouchers only, at 1 point to ₹0.25. There is no cash out or airline transfer option.

Do UPI payments earn reward points?
Not at the accelerated rates. SBI excludes UPI payments from both the 20 point AJIO and JioMart rate and the 10 point Reliance Retail rate, so use the card rather than a QR code in store.

Bottom Line

If your household already buys groceries at Smart, clothes at AJIO or Trends and electronics at Digital, this is one of the better value cards SBI issues. The ₹3,000 joining voucher and ₹8,750 of milestones dwarf the fee, 5% on AJIO and JioMart is a strong uncapped rate, and the monthly movie ticket quietly adds up to ₹3,000 a year.

Skip it if Reliance is not where you shop. Every rupee of reward comes back as a Reliance Retail voucher, so the card is worthless to someone who buys elsewhere. Skip it too if you pay in store by UPI out of habit, because that habit removes the accelerated rate entirely and leaves you with a ₹3,539 card earning 0.5%.
