The RBL Bank Signature Banking Credit Card is a cashback card that RBL issues only to customers of its Signature Banking programme. If you are one, the card costs nothing to hold.
It pays 1% cashback on eligible spends, capped at ₹1,500 per billing cycle, and an uncapped 4% on flights, hotels, shopping and vouchers bought through the RBL Bank Rewards Portal.
On top of that come ₹6,000 of yearly milestone cashback, 8 domestic lounge visits a year and 2 Priority Pass visits abroad. This review works out what the card really returns, and the expiry rule that can wipe out your cashback.
Rewards & Benefits
Cashback rate and earn structure
| Spend | Cashback |
|---|---|
| Flights, hotels, shopping and vouchers on the RBL Bank Rewards Portal | 4%, no cap |
| All other eligible retail spends | 1%, capped at ₹1,500 per billing cycle |
| Fuel and auto, utilities, insurance, rent, education, government, railways, wallet loads, quasi-cash, contracted services, cash, EMI and Bills2Pay | 0 |
The 4% applies only on RBL’s own rewards portal. RBL’s terms say the same flight or hotel booked on any other platform does not get 4%, so it falls back to the standard 1%.
The ₹1,500 cap on the 1% rate is reached at ₹1.5 lakh of eligible spends in a single billing cycle. Most cardholders will never touch it.
Redemption and the 3-month expiry
All cashback, including milestones, shows as one summary in your monthly statement. You redeem it at rblrewards.com by choosing the Cashback category, entering the amount and confirming with an OTP.
The money reaches your RBL savings account within 7 days. RBL charges no redemption fee on this card. Cashback cannot be spent on flights, hotels or vouchers on the portal.
The catch is the expiry. Cashback stays valid for only 3 months from the month it accrues, and after that it is gone. Redeem every month or two, or set a reminder.
Milestone benefits
| Eligible spends in a membership year | Milestone cashback |
|---|---|
| ₹4 lakh | ₹2,000 |
| ₹6 lakh | A further ₹4,000 (₹6,000 in total) |
The membership year starts on the date the card is issued. On ₹6 lakh of eligible spends, you would earn ₹6,000 at 1% plus ₹6,000 in milestones, a total of ₹12,000 or 2% back.
Push part of that spending through the portal at 4% and the overall return climbs higher. The excluded categories above do not count towards either milestone.
Lounge, movie and fuel benefits
| Benefit | Allowance |
|---|---|
| Airport lounges in India | 2 visits every calendar quarter, primary cardholder only |
| Airport lounges abroad (Priority Pass) | 2 visits every calendar year |
| BookMyShow | Buy 1 get 1 free on 2 or more tickets, up to ₹250 off, once a month |
| Fuel surcharge waiver | 1% on fuel spends of ₹500 to ₹4,000, up to ₹250 a month |
RBL’s card page and terms set no spend condition for the lounge visits. The bank places a hold of up to ₹25 in India, or up to $1 abroad, which is reversed in the same month’s statement.
Once your 2 international visits are used, each further Priority Pass visit costs up to $35. GST on fuel is not refunded, only the 1% surcharge.
Fees & Charges
| Charge | Amount |
|---|---|
| Joining and annual fee | Nil for Signature Banking customers |
| Annual fee if you leave Signature Banking | ₹2,500 + GST from the next membership year |
| Forex markup | Up to 3.5% |
| Interest rate | Up to 3.99% a month (47.88% a year) |
| Cash advance fee | 2.5% of the amount, minimum ₹500 |
| Late payment fee | 12.5% of the outstanding, minimum ₹5, maximum ₹1,300 |
| Rent payments | 1% fee |
| Fuel and auto spends | 1% on each transaction above ₹10,000, capped at ₹3,000 |
| Utility spends | 1% on spends above ₹50,000 a month |
| Education fees via third-party apps | 1% fee |
| FASTag and toll | 1% on transactions above ₹10,000 |
| Cashback redemption fee | Nil |
Charges are from RBL’s schedule of charges dated 4 June 2026 and the card’s terms, and 18% GST applies on top. There is no spend target to keep the card free.
The card stays free only while your Signature Banking relationship stays open. RBL’s terms give an example: close the relationship in May, and the ₹2,500 fee is charged at your next card anniversary in November.
The charge that surprises people is the late fee. At 12.5% of the outstanding, a ₹10,000 bill paid late costs ₹1,250 plus GST, close to the ₹1,300 maximum.
Eligibility & Documents Required
The card is offered only to RBL Signature Banking customers, and RBL rejects applications from anyone else. To qualify for Signature Banking you need to meet one of these:
| Signature Banking criteria (meet any one) |
|---|
| Total relationship value of ₹15 lakh across savings, current, fixed deposits and investments |
| Average monthly balance of ₹2 lakh in savings accounts |
| Average monthly balance of ₹5 lakh in current accounts |
RBL lets you group family accounts to meet the criteria. It does not publish a separate income or age rule for the card, and your KYC is already held through your account.
Pros & Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| No fee while you hold Signature Banking | Cashback expires 3 months after it accrues |
| Uncapped 4% on the rewards portal | Only for Signature Banking customers |
| 8 domestic and 2 international lounge visits a year | Up to 3.5% forex markup |
| ₹6,000 of milestone cashback | Long list of categories that earn nothing |
RBL Signature Banking vs Competitors
| Feature | RBL Signature Banking | RBL Aspire Banking | SC Smart |
|---|---|---|---|
| Annual fee | Nil for Signature customers | Nil for Aspire customers | ₹499, waived at ₹1.2 lakh |
| Base return | 1% plus milestones; 4% on portal | 1% plus milestones; 3% on portal | 2% online, 1% offline |
| Lounges | 8 domestic, 2 abroad a year | 1 domestic a quarter, spend-linked | None |
| Who can apply | Signature Banking customers only | Aspire Banking customers only | Open to all |
Fees are plus GST. Aspire Banking is RBL’s lower tier and needs only a ₹1 lakh average balance, but it pays less on the portal and gives far fewer lounge visits.
If you do not bank with RBL at all, the Standard Chartered Smart Credit Card pays more on everyday online spends without asking you to park money anywhere.
How to Apply
Open the Signature Banking Credit Card page on RBL Bank’s website and use its apply link, or ask your Signature Banking relationship manager. RBL checks your Signature status before approving.
If you are not yet a Signature customer, meet one of the criteria first, for example by keeping ₹2 lakh as your average savings balance, and then apply.

Bottom Line
Get the RBL Bank Signature Banking Credit Card if you already bank with RBL at the Signature level and spend ₹4 lakh to ₹6 lakh a year. It is free, it returns about 2% once the milestones are counted, and the lounge allowance is generous for a free card.
It works best if you also book travel or buy vouchers through RBL’s portal at 4%.
Skip it if you would have to park ₹2 lakh at RBL only to qualify, or if you tend to forget redemptions, because cashback expires in 3 months. Skip it too if you spend heavily abroad, where the 3.5% markup bites.
Fees and features are as of October 2026. Check RBL Bank’s site before applying.
