Landmark Rewards SBI Card PRIME Review

Annual Fee ₹2,999 + GST from the second year, no spend based reversal
Best Suited For Households spending ₹1 lakh a year or more inside Landmark Group
Reward Type SBI Reward Points, redeemed instantly in Landmark Group stores

The PRIME earns 25 Reward Points per ₹100 at Landmark stores, which is 6.25% back and among the highest single category rates on any Indian credit card.

That one number carries the whole product. Around it sits a ₹3,000 welcome bonus that repeats every year, twelve lounge visits and a ₹5 lakh milestone worth ₹5,000.

If Lifestyle, Max, Home Centre and Spar are where your family actually shops, this is the card in the range worth paying for. If they are not, none of the three make sense.

Rewards & Benefits

Reward rate and earn structure

Spend category Earn rate Cap
Landmark stores online and retail: Lifestyle, Home Centre, Max, Spar, Baby Shop, EasyBuy 25 Reward Points per ₹100 None published
Dining, movies and international spends 10 Reward Points per ₹100 None published
All other retail purchases 2 Reward Points per ₹100 None published

SBI publishes no monthly cap on the 25 point rate, which is unusual and is what makes the headline figure meaningful.

The base rate excludes fuel, rent, government spends, gaming, wallet loads and EMI transactions, all of which earn nothing.

Redemption and what a point is worth

Four Reward Points equal ₹1. So the Landmark rate is 6.25% back, dining, movies and international spends return 2.5%, and general spending returns 0.5%.

Points are redeemed instantly at Lifestyle, Home Centre, Spar, Max, Baby Shop and EasyBuy. A household spending ₹1,00,000 a year at those stores earns 25,000 points, worth ₹6,250, which is nearly double the ₹3,539 fee before any other benefit is counted.

Welcome and milestone benefits

Benefit Requirement
12,000 Reward Points worth ₹3,000 Payment of the annual fee
20,000 Reward Points worth ₹5,000 ₹5,00,000 annual retail spend

The 12,000 point bonus is paid on every annual fee payment, not just at joining, so it returns ₹3,000 against a ₹3,539 cost each year.

That reduces the effective fee to ₹539 for anyone who can spend the points. The ₹5 lakh milestone needs about ₹41,700 a month and pays ₹5,000, an effective 1% bonus.

Lounge access and fuel

Lounge type Visits per year Quarterly limit
Domestic 8 2 per quarter
International, Priority Pass 4 2 per quarter

Priority Pass membership is worth $99, and beyond the four free international visits Priority Pass charges $27 plus taxes each.

Twelve lounge visits is a genuine addition over the SELECT, which has none at all. The fuel surcharge waiver is 1% on transactions between ₹500 and ₹3,000, capped at ₹250 per statement cycle, which is better than the ₹100 ceiling on both cheaper Landmark cards.

Fees & Charges

Joining fee ₹2,999 + GST
All-in first year cost ₹3,539
Renewal fee, per annum ₹2,999 + GST from the second year
Spend based fee reversal None published
Add-on card fee, per annum Nil
Fuel surcharge waiver 1% on ₹500 to ₹3,000, max ₹250 per statement cycle

GST of 18% brings the real cost to ₹3,539. There is no spend based reversal, but the repeating ₹3,000 welcome bonus covers most of it every year.

The honest way to judge the card is to work out your annual Landmark spending, multiply by 6.25%, add ₹3,000, and compare that total against ₹3,539. Anyone spending ₹10,000 or more a year at those stores is ahead.

The thing that catches people out is the redemption channel. Points only come out inside Landmark Group stores, so the entire value of the card depends on continuing to shop there.

If your household moves away from Lifestyle and Max, the points you have accumulated stop being money and the ₹3,539 keeps being charged. Interest rates, forex markup and cash advance charges are set out in SBI Card’s Most Important Terms and Conditions for this product.

Eligibility & Documents Required

SBI does not publish an income floor, age band or credit score cut-off for this card. At ₹2,999 it sits in SBI’s premium tier, so expect stricter underwriting than on the entry Landmark card.

It is open for online application. Keep ready your PAN, proof of identity, proof of current address, and either recent salary slips or the last two years of income tax returns if you are self-employed.

Pros & Cons

Pros Cons
6.25% back at Landmark stores with no published cap Only 0.5% on ordinary spending
₹3,000 welcome bonus repeats on every renewal ₹3,539 a year with no spend based reversal
8 domestic and 4 international lounge visits Points only redeem inside Landmark Group
₹5,000 of points at the ₹5 lakh milestone Fuel waiver band stops at ₹3,000 per transaction

Landmark Rewards SBI Card PRIME vs Competitors

Card Annual fee Rate at Landmark stores
Landmark Rewards SBI Card PRIME ₹2,999 25 points per ₹100, plus 12 lounge visits
Landmark Rewards SBI Card SELECT ₹1,499 15 points per ₹100, no lounge access
SBI Card PRIME Charged annually Broad everyday earning, no store tie

Against the SELECT, the PRIME costs ₹1,770 more and returns 10 extra points per ₹100 plus twelve lounge visits, so around ₹70,000 of annual Landmark spending is where it pulls ahead.

If you want a premium SBI card that earns well everywhere rather than in one retail group, SBI Card PRIME is the comparison to run.

How to Apply

Apply on SBI Card’s website using the button on this page, which opens the Landmark Rewards SBI Card PRIME product page.

You can also apply through the SBI Card chatbot, by calling the SBI Card helpline, or at an SBI Card branch. The 12,000 welcome points are credited on payment of the annual fee, so they arrive after the fee is billed rather than at approval.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Landmark Rewards SBI Card PRIME annual fee waived?
No. SBI publishes no spend based reversal. The fee is ₹2,999 + GST, which is ₹3,539, every year, offset by a 12,000 point renewal bonus worth ₹3,000.

How much is 25 Reward Points per ₹100 actually worth?
6.25% back, since 4 points equal ₹1. It applies at Lifestyle, Home Centre, Max, Spar, Baby Shop and EasyBuy, online and in store, with no published monthly cap.

How many lounge visits does the PRIME give?
Eight domestic visits a year at two per quarter, and four international Priority Pass visits a year at two per quarter. Priority Pass charges $27 plus taxes beyond the free visits.

How much do I need to spend for the card to pay for itself?
Roughly ₹10,000 a year at Landmark stores. That earns 2,500 points worth ₹625, which with the ₹3,000 renewal bonus clears the ₹3,539 fee.

Can I redeem the points anywhere else?
SBI lists instant redemption at Lifestyle, Home Centre, Spar, Max, Baby Shop and EasyBuy. The value of this card depends on continuing to shop within that group.

What earns nothing on this card?
Fuel, rent, government spends, gaming, wallet loads and EMI transactions are excluded from the 2 points per ₹100 base rate.

Bottom Line

If your family shops at Lifestyle, Max, Home Centre or Spar with any regularity, this is one of the strongest store cards in India.

A 6.25% uncapped rate is rare, the ₹3,000 renewal bonus recovers most of the fee every single year rather than once, and twelve lounge visits is a real benefit rather than a rounding error.

Do not buy it as a general purpose premium card. Outside the Landmark Group it pays 0.5%, it excludes rent, fuel and wallet loads altogether, and every point you earn has to be spent back inside the same six brands.

If your shopping is spread across Amazon, Flipkart and local retailers, a flat rate cashback card will beat this comfortably and cost you less.
