Card Jaano is an independent Indian credit card research site. We read the MITC documents, tabulate the fees, work out what a reward point is actually worth in rupees, and publish the number, including the cap that most articles leave out.
If you have ever been told a card gives “great rewards” and then discovered the 5% cashback stopped at ₹500 a month, this site exists for you.
Why Card Jaano exists
India has over 100 million credit cards in circulation and almost no honest writing about them. Most of what ranks on Google is one of three things:
- Bank marketing copy, reworded. Every card is excellent.
- Affiliate pages that rank cards by commission, not by value to you.
- Rate quoted without cap. “10X reward points” is true for the first ₹5,000 of spend and irrelevant after that but the cap sits in a footnote, or nowhere.
The gap isn’t information. Every fee is technically public, buried in a 14-page Most Important Terms and Conditions (MITC) PDF that nobody reads. The gap is someone doing the reading and putting the answer in a table.
That is the entire job here.
What we cover
| Section | What you’ll find |
|---|---|
| Card reviews | One permanent page per card fees, reward rate with caps, lounge visits, forex markup, eligibility, and an explicit verdict |
| Best-of guides | Ranked shortlists by use case: cashback, travel, fuel, first card, lifetime free |
| News & updates | Fee hikes, reward devaluations, new launches, and rule changes, usually within 48 hours |
| Explainers | How the billing cycle works, what CIBIL actually measures, why the minimum due is a trap |
We cover cards issued in India, in rupees, under RBI rules. We do not cover US or UK cards, and we do not translate American advice for an Indian reader the reward economics are not the same.
How we research a card
Every review on this site follows the same process, in this order:
- Primary sources first. The issuer’s own card page, the MITC document, and the current schedule of charges. Not a press release, not another blog.
- Every rate gets its cap. A reward rate quoted without its monthly or cycle cap is the single most common way finance articles mislead people. The cap goes in the same sentence as the rate, every time.
- Points converted to rupees. “4 points per ₹100” means nothing until you know a point redeems at ₹0.25 against a statement credit and ₹0.50 against a flight. We do that arithmetic so you don’t have to.
- Fees stated pre-GST, with a note that 18% GST applies on top because that’s how the issuer states them, and quietly including GST makes our numbers disagree with your statement.
- Anything we can’t verify is not published. If a figure isn’t confirmable against a primary source, it is left out or flagged, never rounded into place.
- Dated and revisited. Fees and features change. Every page carries the date it was last checked, and we re-verify pages when the issuer announces a change.
Every review ends with a Bottom Line that names who should skip the card, not just who should get it. A recommendation that suits everybody persuades nobody and is usually dishonest.
What we will never do
- Promise that you’ll be approved. Approval is the issuer’s decision, based on income, CIBIL score, and internal policy we have no visibility into.
- Guarantee a credit score outcome.
- Quote an interest rate only as a monthly figure. Every rate on this site is given monthly and annualised, because 3.5% per month is 42% per year and the second number is the one that matters.
- Publish a figure we haven’t checked against a primary source.
- Recommend a card we would tell a friend to avoid.

Corrections
We get things wrong sometimes, and issuers change terms without announcing them. If you spot a fee, cap, or benefit on this site that doesn’t match what your bank tells you, email connect@cardjaano.com with the page link and what you’re seeing. We verify it against the current MITC and, if we’re wrong, we fix the page and update the date on it. Corrections are made to the page itself, not buried in a footnote.
Important disclaimer
Card Jaano publishes general information and opinion, not personalised financial advice. We are not an RBI-registered financial advisor, a SEBI-registered investment adviser, a bank, or a lending institution. Nothing on this site is a recommendation tailored to your income, debts, or circumstances.
Fees, reward rates, caps, and benefits are stated as of each page’s update date and can change without notice. Always confirm the current terms on the issuer’s own website and in the MITC document before you apply. Credit cards carry interest and fees; borrowing beyond what you can repay in full each cycle is expensive, and only you can judge what that limit is for you.
