The Federal Bank Signet Credit Card is the entry member of Federal Bank’s lifetime free Visa trio. Celesta is built for travel and Imperio for family spends, while Signet targets electronics, apparel and entertainment.
It costs nothing to join or keep. In return it pays triple rewards on gadgets and clothes, double rewards on entertainment, an Amazon Pay welcome voucher and 1 domestic lounge visit a quarter once you cross a spend target.
Its interest rate can also drop to 1.99% a month if you keep large balances with Federal Bank. Here is what each benefit is worth, and where the gaps are.
Rewards & Benefits
Reward rate and earn structure
| Spend category | Multiplier |
|---|---|
| Electronics | 3x |
| Apparel | 3x |
| Entertainment | 2x |
| Everything else | 1x |
Federal Bank describes Signet’s rewards only as multiples of a base rate. Its product page does not say how many points you earn per ₹100, whether the 3x and 2x categories carry a monthly cap, or what a point is worth in rupees.
Those details sit in the Federal Rewards programme terms, so check them on the Federal Rewards portal before you count on a return.
What the structure does tell you is how to use the card. A new phone, a laptop or a festive clothes haul goes on Signet first, and movie tickets and streaming second.
Redemption
You redeem points on the Federal Rewards portal. Each redemption request carries a convenience fee of at least ₹99, and the exact amount shows at checkout depending on what you redeem for.
Build up a healthy balance before you redeem, so the fee does not swallow a small claim.
Welcome and quarterly benefits
| Benefit | Condition |
|---|---|
| Amazon Pay e-voucher worth ₹200 | Spend ₹3,000 within the first 30 days |
| Buy one get one on INOX movie tickets | Once a quarter |
| Complimentary Swiggy vouchers | Spend ₹20,000 in a quarter |
| Visa offers and deals | Travel, dining, shopping and lifestyle offers through Visa |
The welcome voucher is a 6.7% return on that first ₹3,000, which is easy to reach in a month. Federal Bank does not publish the value of the Swiggy vouchers on the product page.
The movie offer is the perk most holders will actually use. Pair it with the 2x entertainment rewards and a monthly cinema habit costs noticeably less.
Lounge access
| Benefit | Allowance |
|---|---|
| Domestic airport lounge | 1 visit in the next quarter when you spend ₹20,000 or more in a quarter |
| International lounge | Not offered |
₹20,000 a quarter works out to under ₹7,000 a month. The same spend also earns the Swiggy vouchers, so one target unlocks both benefits. Signet’s product page does not list a fuel surcharge waiver.
Fees & Charges
| Charge | Amount |
|---|---|
| Joining and annual fee | Nil |
| Interest | 1.99% to 3.75% a month (23.88% to 45% a year), linked to your Federal Bank account balance |
| Forex markup | 3.5% |
| Cash withdrawal | 2.5% or ₹500, whichever is higher |
| Cash limit | 10% of your credit limit |
| Late payment | Nil up to ₹250 due, rising in slabs to ₹1,250 above ₹25,000 due |
| Payment return | 2% of the payment, ₹450 minimum |
| Rent and wallet loads | 1% of the amount |
| Card replacement | ₹200 + GST |
| Add-on card | ₹100 + GST each |
GST at 18% applies to all fees and interest. There is no spend target to keep the card free, which is the strongest reason to hold it as a second card. Federal Bank calls the lifetime free offer a limited period offer for customers onboarded from 3 April 2023.
The charge that catches people out is the interest rate. The 1.99% headline is tied to the average monthly balance in your Federal Bank account over the last quarter. Federal Bank’s own example shows 3.75% a month when that balance is below ₹50,000, the same as most cards.
Eligibility & Documents Required
You must be at least 21 for an unsecured Federal Bank credit card, be an Indian resident or NRI, and have a good credit history. Federal Bank does not publish a minimum income for Signet.
Online applicants need their PAN, Aadhaar and the last 3 months of bank statements as a PDF. Salaried applicants share the statement of the account where salary is credited, and self-employed applicants may be asked for income tax login details.
Pros & Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| No joining or annual fee | Points per ₹100 and point value not on the product page |
| 3x on electronics and apparel | Only 1 lounge visit a quarter |
| Buy one get one on INOX every quarter | 3.5% forex markup |
| 1.99% a month interest for big depositors | Minimum ₹99 fee on every redemption |
Signet vs Competitors
| Card | Annual fee | 3x categories | 2x categories | Forex markup |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Federal Signet | Nil | Electronics, apparel | Entertainment | 3.5% |
| Federal Imperio | Nil | Health care, grocery | Utility | 3.5% |
| Federal Celesta | Nil | Travel, international | Dining | 2% |
All three are free for life and share the same interest slabs, so the choice comes down to where your money goes. Signet is the only one that rewards gadgets, clothes and movies. If you spend abroad, Celesta’s 2% markup makes it the better pick.

Bottom Line
Get the Federal Bank Signet if you already bank with Federal Bank and want a free card for gadgets, clothes and movies, with a lounge visit and Swiggy vouchers for ₹20,000 a quarter. Large balances with the bank also earn you the 1.99% interest rate.
Skip it if you want a card whose return you can calculate before applying, since the point value is not on the product page. Skip it too if you travel abroad or fly often, where the 3.5% markup and single lounge visit fall short.
